Privacy policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information.
This policy explains how Parallel Enterprises Pty Ltd T/A Timber Doors Direct (ABN 89 602 297 594) handles personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
- Order and quote details: your name, email, phone, company (optional), delivery address and postcode, the products you configure and any notes you give us.
- Messages: what you send through our contact and quote forms.
- Chat: if you use the chat assistant, your messages and its replies, the page you were on and your IP address. The conversation is also kept in your own browser so it carries across pages.
- Technical information: your IP address and browser details, recorded with orders and messages to prevent fraud and spam.
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this site. Your cart is stored in your own browser (local storage) until you check out.
Payments
Card payments are processed by Stripe on its secure checkout page, and PayPal payments on PayPal's own site. We never see or store your full card or PayPal account details. Stripe and PayPal handle your payment information under their own privacy policies. If you pay by bank transfer, your bank shares your name and the payment reference with us.
Chat assistant
The chat assistant is an AI service. To answer you, your chat messages are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, which processes them on our behalf (possibly outside Australia) and does not use them to train its models. We keep chat transcripts for up to 180 days to review answers and follow up enquiries you ask us to handle. Please do not share payment card details in the chat.
How we use it
To quote, process, deliver and support your order; to answer your enquiries; to meet our legal and tax obligations; and to protect our site from fraud and abuse. We share your name, order reference and collection details with the manufacturer, and with a courier only if you ask us to, as needed to supply your order. We do not sell your information.
Storage and security
Order and enquiry records are stored on a secured server in Australia with restricted access. We keep records for as long as needed for the purposes above and our legal obligations.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by contacting us or calling 0450 800 088. If you are not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
